Use the Group Finder to help your community members find and join groups based on their interests and location. You can also allow members to request membership or add themselves to a group directly.
Configure Groups for the Group Finder
For more on group settings, see All Group Properties.
- Select the Groups > List from the navigation sidebar.
- Click the Pencil icon next to the group you want to add to the Group Finder.
- Expand the Group Information section and complete the following fields
- Group Name (Required)
- Group Image (Optional)
- Description (Optional)
- Choose Leader(s) (Optional)
- Meeting Address (Optional, but recommended for location filtering)
- Meeting Day and Time (Optional, but recommended for day/time filtering)
- Expand the Properties and Settings section and enable at least one of the following options so the group appears in the Group Finder:
- Allow individuals to request to join the group: they are not added automatically. Instead, the Group Leader receives an email to approve or decline the request.
- Allow individuals to add themselves (self-enroll): Clicking Join automatically adds the person to the group. The Group Leader(s) also receive an email notification when someone joins.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
Configure the Group Finder
- Click the gear icon
, select Settings, then select the Groups tab.
- Click Group Finder.
- Select Enable, then choose the Group Properties (categories) to use as filter options and set any other preferences.

- Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your Group Finder settings.
Embed the Group Finder on Your Website
Note: The embed code is provided as-is and cannot be modified beyond the settings above. The look and feel of the Group Finder is largely pre-defined.
- Click the Settings icon
, select Settings, then select the Groups tab.
- Click Group Finder.
- Copy the Website Embed Code at the bottom of the page and paste it into your website.
Note: The embed code cannot be pasted as standard text. In your website editor, select View Source and then paste the embed code.
