Settings: Group Properties

Filtering and managing Groups (or if you custom-named this area in Terminology it could be called something different) can be made easier in your database by leveraging Group Properties. This helpful tool can be added to many Groups at one time and is powerful when combined with Group Views.

Manage | Add Group Property Tags

To manage your Group Properties go to General Settings  → Groups. Of the available links, click on Group Properties.

In this management area, you can now start to define the properties that you want the database to have as tagging options. The setup is simple in that you can define first a Category for the rest of the Properties to be added under.

By default, the database has some tags set up to get started with. These existing ones can be edited to meet your needs and more added. There is no limit on how many can be added.

Because the database is very flexible in this area, it is best to create a bit of a game plan on what areas really need a tag for your groups. Having too many tags can create for a very long list that might be counterproductive to making things easier.

Applying Properties to Groups

There are two ways you can apply properties:

  1. By selecting multiple Groups from the list
  2. On a Group-by-Group basis

Multiple

To add properties to many groups, go to Groups → List. Then select all the groups which will receive the property(or properties) you want to add.

Select from Group List

Then, use the Action Gear at the top and select Apply Properties.

Now check any property that may apply to be added to the Groups. Make sure to scroll to the bottom once that is complete and click GO to add the changes.
