Viewing the Directory (Account Access)

Overview

This article's purpose is to guide users through enabling and customizing the Directory feature, which provides an online directory of specific church members. By following this guide, you can control which members are displayed and what information is shared.

 

Enabling the Directory

  1. Navigate to General Settings
    • From the main menu, go to General SettingsPermissions.

  2. Enable the Directory
    • Locate the Enable Directory option and set it to Yes.
    • Select the group of individuals to appear in the Directory.
    • Recommendation: Create a specific Directory Group containing only the individuals you want to include.
    • Example: You might add regular church attendees or staff to the group.

  3. Choose Visible Fields
    • Below the group selection, choose the fields you’d like Directory viewers to see (e.g., name, photo, email, phone).

Important Notes

  • Membership Requirement
    Individuals must be included in the group you assign to the Directory to appear. If someone is missing from the Directory, confirm they are part of the designated group.

  • Profile Visibility Settings
    Members listed in the Directory can control what personal information is displayed to the public.
    Example: A member may choose to show only their name and photo, hiding contact details.

To maintain privacy, review the Directory Group periodically and ensure only the appropriate individuals are included. This is particularly helpful for staff profiles or sensitive information.
