How to SMS message parents from Check-In

You can SMS message the parents of a child that has been checked in using {{LABEL_NAME}}. 

This is helpful in case you need to reach a parent during the service and your children's ministry staff do not have adequate permissions to access contact info for the parents. 
 
Note: You must have SMS messaging enabled under Settings>Services to use this feature 

When using the Browser:

How to message all parents of a Group from Check-In:                                                      

  1. Using the main check-in system, not kiosk version, click the “Group Contact” tab. 
  2. Search for and select the Group that you wish to contact.
  3. Type your message and click “Send Message” 

 

How to message the parents of a single child: 

  1. Using the main check-in system, not kiosk version, click the “Status” tab. 
  2. Search by Name, Group and/or Station to locate the child. 
  3. Click the cell number listed in the “By” column. 
  4. Type your message and click Send.

When using an iOS Device in App:

How to message all parents of a Group from Check-In:

  1. After checking someone into a group, locate and click the Options button in the bottom left corner of the screen. 
  2. The options menu will pop up and you will click Status.
  3. From the Status List, locate the Group that you would like to contact.
  4. After the list of parents loads, locate and click the bubble or dialogue bubble icon in the top right corner. 
  5. A new text message will load with the Group you have selected as the recipient!

How to message the parents of a single child:

  1. After checking someone into a group, locate and click the Options button in the bottom left corner of the screen. 
  2. The options menu will pop up and you will click Status.
  3. From the Status List, locate the Group that you would like to contact.
  4. After the list of parents loads, locate the parent(s) you would like to contact and click on their name. 
  5. This will load the contact information you have for them. To send a text message, simply click Text.

 

Note: In order to be able to SMS message parents, the guardian must be the name searched for at time of check-in.
