Mobile App (MinistryOne) Check-In

Save Time & Skip the Line! Allow your members to Check-In on their mobile devices!

Using our integrated Mobile App (MinistryOne) your members can pre-Check-In on the way to your event.

Once they enter the building, all they must do is scan a QR code to complete the check-in! If your check-in includes labels, they'll immediately print on a connected printer.

Pre-Requisites

To use Self Check-In within your Mobile App, you'll need to configure a few prerequisites.

(1) Ensure Self Check-In is Enabled

In your Database, click on the Settings Gear at the top right, then on the Check-In tab, then click on the station you plan to use for Mobile App Check-In. Ensure the Allow Self Check-In checkbox is selected (below).

(2) Integrate your ChMS with our Giving Software.

MinistryOne Mobile App is included with our Giving Software. For Check-In to be available within the App, both Giving & ChMS must be integrated. For instructions, see our Giving & ChMS Integration Guide

Once these prerequisites have been met, proceed with setting up mobile self-check-in!

Turn on the Integration

Toggle on CHMS INTEGRATION to make ChMS features available within your Mobile App.

Then, navigate to Modules > Enable Modules and toggle on the Check-In.

After making these changes, click Publish to take Check-In live in your Mobile App!

How to Use Self Check-In

Important: Mobile self-check-in is time-sensitive. A non-mobile check-in must occur to activate self-check-in on your mobile app. (We recommend you perform a non-mobile check-in 30 minutes before people arrive). Once activated, you'll notice a small blue beacon on the Check-In menu item.

Also, mobile self-check-in is automatically deactivated 1 hour after the last check-in has taken place.

Tap Check-In within your mobile app menu (shown below in the slideout menu style). The login screen will appear if a user still needs to log in.

Note: Users don’t even have to know their username/password! They can enter their email and phone (if this information is in their database profile), and MinistryOne will match it to an account and send a one-time passcode. Alternatively, use the standard 'Sign In with Username & Password' option.

After logging in, the member is presented with their connected family members to start pre-check-in.

Tap the individual(s) you want to check in, select the appropriate group, and tap Apply (below).

Note: The groups that appear depend on Group Settings and Check-In Station Settings

Once you've selected every person to be checked in, tap Next to generate the pre-check-in QR Code.

When individuals arrive, they can scan the QR code at a check-in Kiosk to complete check-in. Labels (if configured) will dynamically print, and the guardian security badge code will be stored within the Check-In Module for easy verification at check-out later (below).

About the QR Code...

  • The QR code is not lost if the screen or the Mobile App is closed. Open the app, tap Check-In, and the QR code will still display!
  • As a security measure, a QR code must be used within 4 hours of being created.

Kiosk Requirements to Scan QR Codes

To scan QR codes, you must use either

  • An iPad running the iOS Check-In App (scan via the iPad camera)
  • A computer connected to a 2D scanner. (Most any 2D scanner will work. Just ensure it is "2D" to process QR codes).

Note: When using a 2D scanner, make sure the search bar is selected before scanning for PC or browser-based check-in. Otherwise, the self-check-in will not process.
